General Council is coming up in August. Peggy will have just finished her chemo and is planning to come with me to Orlando. Here is a photo I came across the other day of us at the 1983 General Council in Anaheim, California. 26 years has changed us a bit. Thanks to all for continued prayer support.

Couldn't Do It Without You
OK, we may be halfway through but Peggy has had some very rough days—and nights—since her fourth chemo treatment. Neither of us has felt much like blogging. She has eaten very little, though, as my Facebook friends know, I successfully cooked macaroni and cheese and Peggy didn't gag when she ate it. A friend called this afternoon and brought over some Boston Market sandwiches. Very nice. Several people have asked about providing meals for us but Peggy's appetite is hit and miss. Not sure when—or what—she will be able to eat.
Chemo is a mean thing. Poison throughout your system exacting a sometimes severe temporary toll in order to provide a long-term healing.
We're still trusting in God and know this will turn out well. It's just hard to see my girl suffer. Some of you understand this. She has had support from those who have gone through it or had loved ones who have.
Peggy has not felt much like blogging and doesn't want to be writing negative stuff. (She hates to complain, no matter what she's going through.) So I'm writing it for her.
Thank you, friends, for your love and support. We couldn't do it without you.

Peggy Is Halfway Through Chemo
It was about a 3 hour process only today, the fastest ever. This is her fourth chemo treatment with four to go. They change medicine next time (in 2 weeks) so we have the unknown again. I told her she looks too good for someone going through chemo. That's what Carl Miller said when he visited today (pictured below). The wig looks great.
We got to the center a little early so took a brief stroll by the lake across the street. After the treatment Peggy was even up to a brief walk on our way home, though she was exhausted after.
She had a good appetite and we had a great meal at Logan's.
Received lots of supportive Facebook and email messages. Thanks everyone!

Peggy Update
Her third chemo session last week really knocked her for a loop. She has had some rough times since then. Was better yesterday ... for a while. Continuing thanks for the many prayers.

Peggy's Third Chemo
We finally got the third chemo done after a delay of a week and three shots to boost her blood count. It went very well today and took only three-and-a-half hours. We're very happy and sincerely appreciate all the prayers. Peggy had a new nurse, Krista, who did an excellent job.

A Better Day
Peggy did better today after the second shot to get her white blood cell count up. They told her the worst of the pain is after the first shot. Thankfully, that appears to be true. She is still not feeling great and gets exhausted. We are going to try to have a bit of an outing on Saturday to Silver Dollar City for an opening press day. I have a wheelchair reserved for her as recommended by the cancer staff. This will probably be her last public outing as they are saying even going to church may be risky for her. But we got permission to do this.

Chemo #3 Doesn't Happen
I missed Peggy's second chemo treatment while traveling. I was with her today as we went in apprehensively, hoping to complete #3. We knew her blood counts were low but were hoping they wouldn't be too low. Alas, her white cell count was too low. They gave her the first of a series of shots; she was to have these on four consecutive days, but now it will be three. We sat next to a nice Christian couple from Monet in the treatment area, Ken and Marianne. He had had the shots before and said the pain can make you uncomfortable. When we left we had two new prayer partners. Peggy began experiencing severe back pain when we got home. It is bone pain this medicine causes. She is in bed now and the pain meds are starting to kick in. We will try try again next Weds. Thanks, all, for the many prayers.
"But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair...." (2 Cor. 4:8, NKJV).
