Encounter With a Muscovy Duck

I had this encounter as I was photographing ducks at the local lake. This muscovy took issue with it. (A story in five frames. Read the caption below each picture.)

The Fountain of Fountain Hills

The world famous fountain in Fountain Park, Fountain Hills , Arizona reaches a height of 560 feet. I shot this from the air as we were about to land.

Fountain From the Air

I later drove out to Fountain Hills and took this from the ground.

Weather Update: Breaking Grass

Here's a brief clip of me walking on our lawn ... and breaking it! It snowed lightly throughout the day. Tomorrow morning will be brutal, but we are supposed to hit 40 and have a thaw later in the day.

AG Headquarters Closed for Second Straight Day

Power outages, accidents ... Ice storm may rival the storm of Jan. 2007. We are already losing trees, shrubs. We are holed up in our house waiting it out. Our driveway and walk are skating rinks.

The photo is from the front page of FoxNews.com. Sunshine Street is the main street closest to our house.

Michael H. Shows Us How to Relax

Here is Mike H. in California the last time we were there. We just had to make the sad decision to not go to Italy this year, but we will be with Mike and Sheri at the beginning of our Sept. California trip.

Sundown on Drummond Lake

Sundown, Drummond Lake
Shot this today as the sun was setting. The sun came out very late in the day and I zipped out to the lake to see what I could find to photograph. I was thinking birds; the sunset was unexpected. (There are ducks in the shot.)

Springfield Breaks Heat Record

Today was the hottest Feb. 4 IN SPRINGFIELD, MO since 1891! 117 years since this date has been this hot.

But things change quickly in these parts. We just got hit with a severe thunderstorm warning and tomorrow ... they're predicting snow.

Winter Cardinal

It really warmed up today, melting most of the snow. There were lots of cardinals out on the trail near our house.

This gorgeous shot is of another Wat, but similar.

Snow Shots From Today

Got significant snow last night. I was off today so headed to Drummond Lake to see what I could photograph. Very cold since I couldn't wear gloves. Hands were so numb I had to look to make sure my finger was on the shutter. Nothing great but here are a few shots.
