Golden Gate Begun 79 Years Ago Today

This day in 1933 construction began on the Golden Gate Bridge. A familiar sight to me as I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. I even commuted across the bridge for a time when we lived in Pacifica and I attended seminary in Mill Valley, CA. Some family snapshots from 1992 and one black-and-white from the '40s or '50s: This is my sister Pat, who passed away last year. She loved the Bay Area.
