Tornado Touches Down in Springfield

When tornado sirens sounded yesterday afternoon, I headed to the basement with all the other employees from our building. We were there half an hour or so. We later learned that a tornado touched down up the street, tearing through a couple of businesses. The roof collapsed on a building full of people but they were all in the tornado shelter so no one was hurt.

HQ, where I work, is on central Division Street. The tornado touched down on east Division. They're calling it a micro-burst. Kind of came out of nowhere, then went away fast.

Peggy and her mom were out during the warning but got home safe. Big winds hit the southeast side of town, knocking down hundreds of trees, including some old giants, and damaging homes and property.

T-storm rain all night further saturated the ground causing a lot of casual pooling.
